Policies and Procedures

Our policies and procedures will help us ensure that we provide the best childcare provision that complies with the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage (EYFS).

Our policies and procedures are available in hard copy for all parents and staff of the School House Daycare. Please ask a member of staff.

Lunches

All children attending School House Day care are welcome to bring their own packed lunch. However, we offer a lunch service from Kingswood Catering where parents can take the advantage of this if they choose to.

Kings wood Catering are a combination of hot meals and packed lunches to help make life a little easier for busy parents who can rest assured that their child is eating a filling and nutritious meal. Lunches cost £2.30 each and can be ordered weekly in advance. Please contact us to ask for more details on how to order online.

Funding

The School House Day care understands how confusing funding processes can be. That’s why we’re here to assist you in applying for early years funding to maximise your entitlement.

We offer 15 hours funded for 2-year-olds, subject to requirements. Meanwhile, children aged 3 to 4 years old are offered 30 hours . If you think your child is eligible for disability access fund or high needs funding, please speak to a member of our staff. We are able to stretch the hours over the year also making this 22 hours a week instead.

Curriculum

The School House Daycare curriculum follows the early years foundation stage (EYFS). We offer a range of activities for the children. The EYFS sets the standards that all childcare providers must ensure that children learn and develop and are kept healthy and safe. It covers the first stage of a child’s care, learning and development, from birth to 5 years old.

Staff

The School House Daycare staff is dedicated, hardworking, and goes above and beyond to deliver the best services for your child. Each of our team has up-to-date and relevant qualifications, yet we continue to strive for excellence in our work.

First aid training is a key requirement among our staff. We showcase our team’s photos and certificates around the building for you to see the role each one of us plays. All the staff are DBS checked before and whilst working at the school.

Registration

If you plan to register at the School House Daycare, we recommend you start with a

visit to us where you can tour the building and ask us questions. At the end of the tour, we’ll hand you one of our packs with all the relevant paperwork to be filled out.

Once complete, we’ll arrange free settling-in sessions for your child. If, after the sessions, you feel that the School House Daycare is suitable for your child’s needs, we’ll provide a welcome pack with all the information and details of your kid’s start date, a picture, and a small message from their key person.

We will also have a checklist of what to bring on their first day. From there, we keep a daily record of your child's events for you to see and comment on.

School House Daycare is operational throughout the year; however, we also offer a holiday club. Please contact us to book in advance.
